Not Always

I like to remember from time to time that the oils don’t always have to serve a purpose! Sometimes we use our diffuser just because IT SMELLS GOOD!!! The best part is there are always side benefits as my friend likes to say! Today we are diffusing wild orange and tea tree oil. I love the mix and the side benefits are keeping my air clean and fresh and keeping my family emotionally balanced! WIN WIN!

So my treat for you all today is some smells for our men (and women)!  They all smell amazing and you don’t need any other reason!

So get to diffusing something YOU enjoy! Happy Thursday!

Shiny and New

We have been slowly working on remodeling our home for the last few years. We have beautiful hard wood cabinets that have gone neglected for too many years.

My original plan was to refinish them, but with a little help from my wood Polish DIY I think we can put it off for awhile!!

Here is the recipe: scroll to the bottom to see my before and afters 🙂

Wood Polish
¼ cup olive oil or Fractionated Coconut Oil (I used FCO
¼ cup vinegar
10 drops doTERRA essential oils Wild Orange
  1. Add olive oil/FCO and vinegar to glass spray bottle.
  2. Add 10 drops of essential oil.
  3. Shake well before each use.
  4. Apply to microfiber cloth and wipe wood surfaces clean. Repeat every 2–3 months or as often as needed

I am Pretty sure that by now we all know how much I love the grounding blend! I thought I would just pop on to share this blend real quick as an intro to our oil for the week! We are going to be focusing on all the amazing properties and uses of Wild Orange. So enjoy your weekend and stay tuned for some awesome tidbits!

Woof woof!

I have two very silly dogs that like to play outside. One is a big dufus that has no idea how big he is. The other is a small nervous herder.

They both roam around and frolic through the grass. We mow and keep up our property but we do not use poisons to kill bugs.

It is very unsafe to spray grass for many reasons including it getting on our fur babies paws and absorbing into their body. Same goes for our children who play outside too.

I had to find an alternative and thanks to pub med once again I have a good starting point.

The recent research shows that Wild Orange essential oil helps repel ticks! This is great news because ticks are nasty carriers of Lyme disease.

I recommend filling a large sprayer with water and 2.5% orange essential oil and giving the yard a good mist.

Feel Like killing two birds with one stone add some liquid dish washing soap and vinegar as a natural weed killer!

Your pets and children will be safe from toxins and ticks and you will hopefully have  happy weed free grass win win!!

Calm Down!

Recently my company merged with another company and my medical benefits changed. I just got off the phone for the 4th time this week trying to explain that they need to bill my new insurance instead of my old one. Does anyone communicate anymore!? Thank the lord I had my roller blend pre-made because let me tell you, with a screaming baby in the background, a toddler trying to get into everything and me trying to tell the same company for the 4th time that they are billing the wrong insurance I was about to lose it!

However, I took the high road. I had some big whiffs of my roller bottle and then rolled it on my neck and hands and managed a calm and adult conversation. Fingers Crossed I don’t have to speak to them again about this topic.

Interesting fact:  research shows that lavender increases signs of interpersonal trust. See the research here .

I will choose to believe that using my essential oil blend allowed me to calm down and trust in the person on the other line to solve my problem!

Why not try it out! Plus, It smells Really good!
