Alone Time

Today has been a long day. I have been “momming” non stop for both my needy boys. I would not change anything. I may complain but I love that the still need my snuggles to feel better!

Bedtime has arrived, we read some of our favorite books, brushed our teeth and now it is my alone time!

I will be using this awesome blend with 1/4c epsom salt and 1 tablespoon of FCO in my bath water while reading my book.  See you on the flip side! Don’t forget that your self-care is important too!


Lemon and Sandalwood

I have been obsessed with sandalwood lately. I have no clue why but I am assuming that means I need it?

Sandalwood: Calms, Harmonizes and Balances emotions.

Lemon: Promotes, Health, Healing, Physical energy and purification.

They Both Blend well with Frankincense and Ylang Ylang if you need a little extra boost!

This Article may support the notion that sandalwood helps decrease anxiety.

This article supports the effects of lemon oil on decreasing anxiety and stress.

The Pose of the day is the ARROW pose! To illicit Balance in all areas of life. Straight, Strong and Focused.

As you start the pose follow the mantra and Finish with “I dare to be strong”.

1. I am straight as an arrow

2. I am long and focused

3. I fly through the air

4. I dare to be strong

I have worked through some Out with/In with statements and focusing on positive energy this week. My favorite for this pose, “Out with the stress, In with the peace”.

The oils I was drawn to before this pose were Passion and Peace. I rolled them on my pulse points on my wrist and neck and rubbed them in to increase blood flow.


Passion is also known as the inspiring blend. It contains individual oils that blend to increase passion and confidence and decrease fear, rejection and defeat.

Cardamom: is uplifting, refreshing, and invigorating and may help with feelings of confusion.

Cinnamon: has warming, stimulating properties and is often used to help with low libido.

Ginger: is often used for its stimulating, warming influence. The aroma may help influence physical energy and love. Shown in this study to potentially increase physical activity as well as serve as an anti oxidant and anti inflammatory! Very cool.

Clove: helps create a feeling of protection and courage and is often used to help with hormonal balance.

Sandalwood: helps calm, harmonize, and balance the emotions and can help relieve nervous tension. As seen in this study.

Jasmine: has a beautiful, uplifting fragrance that symbolizes hope, happiness, and love. It is often used to help uplift and open the emotions and to help promote powerful, inspirational relationships.

Vanilla: is calming and balancing and may help ease tension.

Damiana: was used traditionally by the ancient Mayan and Aztec people to promote stronger feelings of affection. It is often used to help reduce feelings of anxiety and promote relaxation.

Peace is an emotions blend also called the Reassuring blend. It helps fight emotions of anger, depression and grief as well has illicit happiness and is uplifting.

Single Oils in This Blend:

Vetiver: has calming, balancing properties and is often used to help sedate the nerves. It may also help with anxious, stressful, worried feelings and promote restful sleep. Also good with decreasing anxiety according to this study.

Lavender: is well known for its calming, soothing properties. It helps promote consciousness, health, love, peace, and a general sense of well-being.

Ylang Ylang: has antidepressant and sedative properties. It is often used to help calm and relax. This study shows a decrease in anxiety and improvement in self esteem!

Frankincense: is often used to help promote feelings of balance, to help with focus and meditation, and to help ease impatience and restlessness.

Clary Sage: has sedative and soothing properties and is often used to help with hormonal balance.

Marjoram: is often used to help relieve physical stress and helps promote feelings of peace and restfulness.

Labdanum: or cistus, was one of the first aromatic substances used anciently. It is stimulating to the senses and is often used to help elevate the emotions and soothe the nerves.

Spearmint: is often used to help open and release emotional blocks and to bring about a feeling of balance. It is also known to help with feelings of depression by relieving mental strain and fatigue and lifting one’s spirit.



Sugar Scrub DIY

Time to spoil yourself with some very easy DIY sugar scrub to use in the shower or bath. Your skin will feel amazing and these specific oils have great properties to prevent those aging skin lines and make your body smooth as a baby bottom! I made some today with my friend, took less than 10 minutes dishes included! I use mason jars for storage, just be careful not to break it in the shower and slice your toes  eek!!! Have fun! Sugar Scrub

with Youthful Skin


  • Glass container
  • ½ cup Fractionated Coconut Oil
  • 8 drops of Frankincense
  • 8 drops of YlangYlang
  • 8 drops of Helichrysum
  • 8 drops of Sandalwood
  • ¾ cup White or Brown Sugar


Combine essential oils and Fractionated Coconut Oil in a bowl. Add essential oils and stir. Add sugar. Put in glass container. Use on hands, feet, and any rough patches of skin a few times a week.


Not Always

I like to remember from time to time that the oils don’t always have to serve a purpose! Sometimes we use our diffuser just because IT SMELLS GOOD!!! The best part is there are always side benefits as my friend likes to say! Today we are diffusing wild orange and tea tree oil. I love the mix and the side benefits are keeping my air clean and fresh and keeping my family emotionally balanced! WIN WIN!

So my treat for you all today is some smells for our men (and women)!  They all smell amazing and you don’t need any other reason!

Calm, cool, and collected

Have you ever tried to keep a 2.5 year old male calm? For a week? I tell you, for me, it is not easy!

My sweet boy had a medical procedure that requires him to not straddle or climb or jump and there is only so much TV one can watch before you get bored.

In my research about keeping little ones calm I found that the In Tune blend was a great option but I did not have it on hand. I did however have the oils to make it.

The Focus blend may help with hyperactivity, ADD/ADHD, calmness, focus,  and stress.

The blend contains: Amyris Bark, Patchouli Leaf, Frankincense Resin, Lime Peel, Ylang Ylang Flower, Hawaiian Sandalwood Wood, Roman Chamomile Flower essential oils

According to this article  the oil ylang ylang has shown to decrease heart rate and improve calmness.

I did not have Amyris, but I was able to mix the other oils in a roller with FCO and applied it to the bottom of little guys feet and to his heart and spine. I rubbed it in with a gentle loving massage and started up the TV. We both have been reasonably calm after each application. We have to re apply every couple hours but it has helped us a lot.

One small note is I added 1 drop of vetiver as it is also known for calming and it is one of my favorites!!
