It is memorial day weekend!!! I love barbecues and good sales, but it is so important to remember why we get to enjoy this three day weekend.

I have been talking to my endless question asking 2 year old about memorial day and where it stems from. We talked about how we take the day to remember all of the men and women who gave their lives to protect our freedom, allow us to live in peace, play with our toys, eat good food and sleep in our warm beds.

He then told me “momma are they sad?” I explained that they are now resting in peace but their loved ones may be sad. He then asked “can we make them happy”? He too wise for his years and I have no answer.
