DIY, Individual Oil

DIY Hand Soap!

Good Morning Everyone!

We used up all our hand soap because Toddler life is a messy life! So this morning we made more! It is summer so I wanted to avoid citrus oils due to their photo sensitivity. I also wanted something that would keep us calm and but still slightly stimulating.

Tea Tree is an oil we have not talked a lot about yet. It is one of the most popular oils and most recognized by medical professionals as it has a lot of research to back it up! It is well-known for its powerful antiseptic properties and ability to treat wounds, which is why it’s one of the top antibacterial oils. It has also been shown to be effective against other antibiotic resistant infections. Super cool! It does many other things as well. Check the Tea tree or Melaleuca Tag for more posts about this awesome oil!  Have fun with your DIY!

Relaxed Clean

Today is my day off from work and I am stuck at home waiting for the longest time slot appointment ever from the septic company for our inspection. So, I am cleaning. I guess I will be productive if I a hostage at home!

I used our On Guard cleaner for the counters, I added lemon and peppermint into our steam mop (Smells good but oils are damaged when exposed to heat so no cleaning properties), and I vacuumed the floors ( I add peppermint and orange oil to cotton balls and suck them up first to make the vacuum clean and fresh).

The focus of my post however is the new blend I create today! I am so excited about it, it smells amazing, purifies the air and keeps everyone in the house nice and balance, 2-year-old included.

I think I have made it pretty obvious how much I love DoTerra’s Grounding Blend. We use it daily diluted for our 2-year-old to balance his emotions, for me to be more patient and we even diffuse it to make our little dog less anxious ( the jury is still out on this last one).

Balance can promote a whole-body sense of relaxation, may help ease anxious feelings and evoke feelings of tranquility and balance.

Purify is a blend we like to diffuse for its refreshing aroma, the fact that it can replaces unpleasant odors and clear the air and how it may protects against environmental threats.

We use purify for our toilet bombs, fabric spray and our air deodorizer (can you say stinky diapers?)

According to DoTerra Eucalyptus oil has purifying properties that can be beneficial for the skin and for cleansing surfaces and the air. Studies have shown that Eucalyptus is effective in helping lessen tension.

Lastly we have an oil that is quickly becoming a new favorite (let’s be honest I love almost all of them) Copaiba.

This is a newer oil that DoTerra released last year. The primary make up is 60% beta-Caryophyllene or BCP which binds to CB2 receptors which are found mostly in the immune system. According to this study Copaiba does not have toxic effects and may be useful in treating pain disorders.  Copaiba can be comparable to CBD but 100% drug free with zero risk of containing THC and 100% legal.

I added this to our diffuser today to help me with my back pain while cleaning and I have no pain! I will do a very detailed post on Copaiba but I wanted to give you a little sneak peek on the research I am doing and how amazing it is!

Have a wonderful clean and pain-free day!

Slumbering

Cedarwood is part of our new nighttime ritual. Husband doesn’t love a lot of floral scents like lavender but we love that outdoorsy scent.

Surprisingly, cedarwood essential oil has antifungal, antiseptic, diuretic, astringent and sedative properties.

Giving cedarwood oil a good sniff helps the release of serotonin, which converts into melatonin in the brain. Melatonin induces restorative sleep and leaves you feeling calm.

A study on rats show that after inhaling cedarwood their body movements dramatically decreased even after caffeine consumption.

check it out: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12898420

It smells amazing with the added sedative oils of lemongrass, orange, and my favorite hormone balancer clary sage.  We will delve deeper into these oils soon! I promise!

So try out this blend, enjoy a peaceful night sleep.

It Also does a great job on the bottom of little feet after nightmares to help calm them down and promote happy feelings.

Sweet dreams!
