I have been obsessed with sandalwood lately. I have no clue why but I am assuming that means I need it?

Sandalwood: Calms, Harmonizes and Balances emotions.

Lemon: Promotes, Health, Healing, Physical energy and purification.

They Both Blend well with Frankincense and Ylang Ylang if you need a little extra boost!

Black or Earl Gray…

Very calming

Have you ever wondered what sets Earl Gray tea apart from the black English breakfast tea? The quick and most accurate answer is the unsung hero of essential oils…Bergamot. Whether you pronounce it like the french or with a hard “T” it is a great oil for calming anxiety and settling down from a long day.

This oil can help with insomnia, relaxation, and reduce agitation.

There was a study conducted that shows bergamot and lavender blended decrease feelings of anxiety and depression which is very awesome. One step closer to helping people control their mental health and feel empowered to have the tools on hand to combat those feelings!!

Please remember that bergamot is a citrus oil and may cause skin sensitivity when exposed to sun up to 12 hours after application!

Bergamot blends best with the following oils: Cypress, eucalyptus, geranium, lavender, lemon, and ylang ylang.

The Tale of Wild Orange

Time for me to reveal one of my deep dark secretes…….

I HATE raw meat….I don’t like cutting it, touching it, or cooking it… Are you now wondering How is this relevant to wild orange? We will get there.

Wild orange essential oil earns an entire week of blog posts because it is so versatile. I was and honestly still am trying to figure out where to start because it can do so much.

Today I will do a quick overview of the main research based properties and then will delve deeper on each topic this week.

1. Orange is a power house cleaner. It has even been shown to prohibit growth of E coli bacteria and Salmonella. So I make sure I have my wild orange on hand to clean our counters, my hands and utensils and anything else that may have potentially come in contact with nasty raw meat.

2. It has been shown to successfully fight certain strains of cancerous tumors (yes I have research for this one)

3.  Enhances immune system and protects against oxidative stress which is really neat

4. Decreases blood pressure by improving circulation which is also helpful in addressing anxiety and decreased cortisol levels. (I have research for this too 😁)

5.  Anti inflammatory Orange essential oil makeup is high in limonene which has been shown to be a great anti inflammatory.

6. Pain reducer There is another double blind study that shows short term pain relief from ginger and orange essential oil.

7. Mood booster: Orange oil has been shown to reduce cortisol levels which makes it both uplifting and calming which is quite rare. When we breathe it in our olfactory system adapts to our current needs.

7. Calming sedative: This double blind shows orange oil helps over come anxiety during labor! Why is this not in every labor room? It also has a statistical significance in decreased blood pressure for immediate and long term decrease.

8. Fights acne, wrinkles and dark spots

The absolute best part about wild orange is that it is very inexpensive. $10.50 if you have a wholesale membership!  Ask me how to get wild orange into your home!

I am Pretty sure that by now we all know how much I love the grounding blend! I thought I would just pop on to share this blend real quick as an intro to our oil for the week! We are going to be focusing on all the amazing properties and uses of Wild Orange. So enjoy your weekend and stay tuned for some awesome tidbits!

Calm, cool, and collected

Have you ever tried to keep a 2.5 year old male calm? For a week? I tell you, for me, it is not easy!

My sweet boy had a medical procedure that requires him to not straddle or climb or jump and there is only so much TV one can watch before you get bored.

In my research about keeping little ones calm I found that the In Tune blend was a great option but I did not have it on hand. I did however have the oils to make it.

The Focus blend may help with hyperactivity, ADD/ADHD, calmness, focus,  and stress.

The blend contains: Amyris Bark, Patchouli Leaf, Frankincense Resin, Lime Peel, Ylang Ylang Flower, Hawaiian Sandalwood Wood, Roman Chamomile Flower essential oils

According to this article  the oil ylang ylang has shown to decrease heart rate and improve calmness.

I did not have Amyris, but I was able to mix the other oils in a roller with FCO and applied it to the bottom of little guys feet and to his heart and spine. I rubbed it in with a gentle loving massage and started up the TV. We both have been reasonably calm after each application. We have to re apply every couple hours but it has helped us a lot.

One small note is I added 1 drop of vetiver as it is also known for calming and it is one of my favorites!!

Stay calm my friends and have a great evening!!

We all have Emotions

Do you ever feel like you are on an unstable roller coaster with too many feels?! I have been a hormonal imbalanced wreck after baby number two, or questionably for my entire pubescent life…

This week has been especially frustrating but I now, after 29 years, finally have some backup. Clary Calm is the women’s blend that is made to balance hormones. I don’t have any science behind this blend yet specifically but I can tell you first hand that it takes me from an ugly cry to an embarrassed reasonable human in minutes.

Clary sage is the first ingredient and it is a hormone powerhouse.    It has natural phytoestrogens which help regulate estrogen. It also was found in this study to be an effective anti depressant and decrease cortisol levels which block hormone production.

I like to rub Clary calm on my forearms and I like to diffuse Clary sage with bergamot, grapefruit and juniper berry. It is slightly calming and gives me that extra uplifting support I need to negotiate with a toddler.

Have questions? Lets set up a time to talk about the best blend to bring you some inner peace.
