We use a Fake Tree for now. It is tall and beautiful and pre-lit! All the things I look for around Christmas, Easy. The only thing we miss is the fresh tree smell. So PROBLEM SOLVED! We made these adorable diffuser ornaments with Douglas Fir and Siberian Fir. They Smell amazing and we get to personalize them every year to keep the memories alive! 1 cup Baking Soda
1/2 cup Corn Starch
3/4 cups water
15 drops Douglas Fir/Siberian Fir or Holiday Joy Essential Oil
Optional: glitter, food coloring, Puffy Paint
Heat all ingredients, minus Essential Oil and optional items, in small sauce pan over medium heat. Stir continuously. In a few minutes it will begin to boil( If adding food coloring, add now) and then, within 5 minutes it will thicken and form a ball of dough. Remove from heat and stir in Essential Oil and perhaps some glitter.
Once cool (not longer hot at all), roll out, using extra cornstarch to prevent sticking and use cookie cutters to create ornaments. . For extra sparkle, add glitter on top when rolling out dough. You can also use stamps to put impressions into the dough, I Pressed the kids hand prints in the dough after.
Move to cookie sheet with spatula, then puncture ornament hole using a large toothpick or skewer. Decorate with puffy paint or other acrylic pain.
Allow to harden 24 hours, flipping after 12 hours.
Store extra air tight in a zip lock bag. (I suck out the air like a weirdo haha)

Monster Slime 6 dollars or DIY :
1 Cup School Glue (Clear or White)
1 Cup Water
10 Drops of oil of choice ( we used Lavender, lemon and Peppermint)
Food coloring, glitter or confetti (any decoration of choice)
Mix together well
1 Cup Liquid Starch (STA-Flo)
Stir until one Blob and then Kneed until the texture you desire.
Fix its : Too sticky, add more liquid starch
Breaking: Add hand lotion (Doterra lotion works great!)
Too Runny? Pour out excess water and add some glue!
Body Scrub 6 dollars or DIY: Pumpkin Spice
1 cup Sugar
1 cup FCO or Coconut oil
5 drops of Clove
5 drops Cassia
5 drops Orange
3 drops cardamom
Whisk or stir until well blended and store in air tight container!
Get skin damp and rub in a circular motion over arms, legs and body avoiding sensitive areas let sit for 30 seconds before rinsing with water!
The season is finally here, FALL! The days get shorter and those sweet children afraid of the dark are back to square one trying to fight off the monsters of the night. I have to admit, I am still terrified to take the garbage out at night ever since my brother pretended to be a zombie, jumping out of the bushes to chase me, without breaking character.
I cannot prevent my children from playing tricks on each other, but I can use all the tools around my house to help bedtime be smooth and easy! So, new nighttime routine. Check the closets, drawers, behind the curtains. Spray the monster repellent around the room and finish off with a prayer. You can decorate the bottle as a fun craft and as a way to get your child involved and take ownership of their fears!
The recipe for today is a Monster Repellent Spray!
2oz bottle (glass preferred)
5 drops Lavender
5 drops Cedarwood
5 drops Bergamot
1 tablespoon rubbing alcohol
Top off with water.
Spray as needed around room or house to ward off monsters*
You can Also just diffuse this blend to help children calm down and sleep at night. And this Study supports the use of Cedarwood as a sedative “he above findings indicate that cedrol inhalation had marked sedative effects regardless of the animal species”
